About the Tripp x Summer litter

Tripp is a young dog, at just 2 years old, showing plenty of promise in the field and having proven himself in the show ring. Tripp was produced by Karen and Valerie Potter of Heiss Draht GWP in Michigan. He is owned by myself and Brendon. Tripp earned his NAVHDA Natural Ability Prize 1 (110) at 5 months old. He then finished in the AKC show ring quickly with four major wins, including going Winner's Dog at the 2024 GWPCA National Specialty. He also completed his Rally Novice title at the 2024 National Specialty events and earned his Canine Good Citizen shortly after. Tripp spent some of last fall hunting in North Dakota and then retrieving waterfowl for us at home over the winter. He is a very level headed and biddable dog with the perfect amount of sensibility to balance his natural drive. We are excited for him to complete his AKC Senior Hunter and take a swing at his NAVHDA Utility Test later this year. Tripp is FF and has a lovely, properly textured and furnished coat requiring no manual upkeep. He is fully health tested with passing scores and has earned his CHIC #.

Summer is a production of Ryan McIntosh's Southern Wires breeding program in Texas, which in terms of wild bird hunting dogs needs no introduction. Summer has incredible natural bird drive and style. She has excellent trainability, completing her AKC Junior Hunter, NAVHDA Natural Ability with a Prize 1 (112), and going on to earn a Utility Test Prize 1 (199) at 2 years old. Summer is a friendly, sweet and sound dog. Summer is Ff and has good coat length and texture with appropriate furnishings. She is fully health tested to CHIC standards with passing scores.

Both Tripp and Summer are family house dogs, living well with children, visitors, and dogs of other breeds and sexes.

These puppies should be of moderate size, with good pigment, dense, harsh, tight coats and moderate to light furnishings. There are no genetically slick coated possibilities from this breeding. Puppies are expected to be of moderate to high drive with a nice off switch. They will be eager to please, bird finding machines with good noses and plenty of style. This breeding is expected to produce versatile dogs who can easily fulfill their breed purpose as the Swiss Army knife of sporting dogs, succeed in any hunting, sport or showing venue you choose, and be excellent family companions.

Thank you to the breeding programs and people behind these dogs. This is an exciting collaboration bringing together two different but equally impressive lines of dogs, thanks to the trust, hard work and investments of the breeders before us.
